Is the Westfälischer Golf-Club Gütersloh really a golf course? Time-honored oak and beech trees line the fairways. Roe deer, hares and numerous bird species are at home here. For example, the kingfisher has settled on the golf course for several years. In addition, cuckoos, herons and coots testify to an intact nature. In addition, the beautifully landscaped ponds and wetlands provide a habitat for numerous animal species. The golf course, which now covers an area of 60 hectares, and the surrounding nature create an almost paradisiacal atmosphere.
For club manager Katja Ingenhoven, "the club's participation in the DGV's Golf&Nature quality management program and the gold award", was one of three arguments to bring her know-how as a DGV business administrator to this club in 2023. "In addition," says the active golfer herself (HC -24), "I appreciate the extensive promotion and support of the youth, which has received the DGV Youth Promotion Gold Award, as well as the sporting orientation of the club with various teams of all ages, including in the 2nd Bundesliga, DGL teams and in the regional and state leagues."
Katja Ingenhoven has a degree in finance, business administration (FH) and, after passing her tax consultant exam, extensive expertise in the areas of finance, taxation and club law. Previously, Katja Ingenhoven was club manager at the Verden Golf Club, where she had already gained good practical experience with PC CADDIE software. The high IT standard was ultimately also the reason for introducing PC CADDIE at Westfälischer Golf-Club Gütersloh. The biggest challenge was to make the software switch to PC CADDIE in February, practically in the middle of the pre-season preparations, and to send the contribution invoices to the members smoothly within the shortest possible time. "Thanks to the excellent training provided by our club team, it worked like a charm," says Ingenhoven. It's a great start for the club's management team, but also for Harald Held, who was elected the golf club's new president in 2023. The 12th in office since the founding of the club in 1969. Thus, the three innovations of the year were complete!
After the baptism of fire of the first few months, Katja Ingenhoven sums up concrete advantages in everyday work with PC CADDIE: "First and foremost, I mention the convenient use of the app for members and guests. Then there are the possibilities for online presentation to the outside world in the app, the info screen and the integration options on the homepage. In addition, the cash register module and billing are much more structured and easier to handle. Last but not least: the timetable with simultaneous bookability of carts, trollies and payment from this system are unbeatable." The possibilities in the app with payment functions for green fees, golf instructors, ball cards, Trackman and gastronomy are in the planning stage and have already been partially implemented. And what else does Katja Ingenhoven appreciate about her workplace? Answer: "The great teamwork among members and employees, the quality of the championship course and the excellent gastronomy with the most beautiful terrace in NRW."
