PC CADDIE has been successfully using the SAP Advantage Database Server (ADS) for local installations with multiple simultaneous accesses for many years. This technology has proven itself through stability and performance - especially for larger installations.
To ensure that you can continue to work with a modern, powerful and long-term maintainable database solution in the future, we are currently setting the course for the switch to MariaDB - one of the world's leading open source databases.
What does this mean for you?
If you use PC CADDIE in the cloud, you don't have to do anything - a central database solution is already in use there.
For local installations, the switch to MariaDB will take place gradually from the end of 2025. After the switch, the Advantage Database Server will no longer be needed to guarantee you consistent and reliable operation.
